HP Deskjet 3745 Color Inkjet Printer review
Excelent color inkjet priner for home and small volume printing.
The HP Deskjet 3745 is excelent for all those people who do not need to print in a large volume basis.
Documents are printed at a reasonable speed for the price and, using 4x6 tabbed paper, printed photos are
simply wonderful. It also provides reliable hardware as it is based on older HP’s 3500 series. Its compact
design makes it occupy less space than the average home printer.
The software has been improved over older version products; installation is now practically flawless. The
extra software has minimum requirements so it can be good also for older or less powerful PCs.
Like many other HP models, this little printer loads the paper from a frontal, horizontal tray, holding
the paper flat so it won’t curl up or jam. The fact that the tray holds only 50 sheets suggests
that the Deskjet 3745 has been conceived for small volume or little printing.
As ink cartridges last after about 100 – 150 prints, this printer is definetly not recommendable if you
print more than 100 pages per month. Also, ink cartridges price is high, almost double the price of those
for Deskjet 6540 which, in this case, would become a better bargain.
Although this printer is described as “quiet and smooth”, when printing, while it is fairly smooth, hp
deskjet 3745 isn’t actually so quiet. It is also worth to be noticed that it isn’t so easy for a frontal
tray feeded printer to be quite while printing.
Like most printers, this one does not come with the USB cable, which has to be purchased separately and,
for instance, the usb cable needed is the Belkin Pro Series USB 2.0 Device Cable (USB A/USB B), and not
the Belkin F3U133-06 USB Device Cable.
